Coming out of high school, Taj Gibson was heavily recruited by several top college basketball programs across the country. Originally from Brooklyn, Gibson eventually settled on USC to be part of the foundation of Tim Floyd's team. Like Gibson, Floyd had just arrived at USC, and recruited Gibson to be one of the building blocks of the franchise.
