Coming out of high school, John was looking for the perfect fit, and a place where he could play both baseball and football. A varsity starter in football for two years, and in baseball for three, John's work ethic made playing college sports a reality.
Although John considered playing at a Division 1 school, he felt that he would get more considerable playing time at a Division 3 school. He would also get the opportunity to play two sports, something which he looked for in a school.
Wendy spoke about the recruiting process for John, and what he had to go through to find the perfect school.

Eventually John decided to attend Occidental, a place where he would get the opportunity to play both sports. Ultimately, he decided to focus on his true passion, which is football.
